First off, Wednesday we find out for sure (provided baby cooperates) if we're having a girl or a boy! This has definitely been the longest four weeks of my life waiting on this confirmation. I already have a lot of things picked out for the gender we think we're having, so all I need is this appointment before everything is a greenlight for baby shopping. *big smiles*
This week is week 19, and as for the great weight debate, here's the deal:
At my last appointment, my doctor's scale showed 0 weight gain. Well, that's not true because I monitor my weight at home every morning with consistency. But, my doctor has weighed me each time with differing weights of shoes/clothes/etc. I began my pregnancy in winter, so I would go into his office with heavy boots/long skirts/bulky sweaters. As my appointments have progressed the clothes have gotten lighter and baby has gotten heavier, but everything on his scale has evened out to 0.
At my last appointment, he told me that he likes to see a 10lb weight gain by week 20. By my scale I had gained 6lbs. So I figure I would try to get to about 8lbs by this week to be close enough. For those that don't know, I'm a big proponent of low carb eating, so I try to keep it around 80-100g a day. This weekend I pumped it up to 150-200g....basically making myself very sick from the junk....I lost a pound! So I here I sit two days from my appointment with a 5lb total weight gain. I give up. As long as baby is healthy, the doctor can just deal. I figure the baby is stubborn like me and doesn't like being told when to gain weight haha. Although not pregnant me can't lose a pound that quickly to save her life. The magic of pregnancy.
Of course, everyone says that come third trimester I will put weight on like crazy. I'm skeptical right now. I really think this baby takes after my husband and will be a tiny baby and a thin adult. My prediction is the baby comes out around 6lbs at the most 7, but I certainly don't think we will be breaking any records with a heavier baby.

My pregnancy so far....
I thought I would answer some of the questions I get asked most often in this post.
Due Date? September 24, 2012
How was 1st trimester? It was "okay". I felt queasy and tired a lot, but I never actually was sick. That was a huge blessing.
2nd Trimester? So far nothing much but daily headaches, which are annoying but not unbearable. The funny thing is that Tylenol doesn't get rid of them only caffeine in tea, which is usually loaded with sugar which I'm trying to avoid. Go figure.
Registry? Not yet. I'm still waiting on the final verdict of the gender before proceeding. I do, however, have one long Amazon wishlist so all I have to do is plug it in. Amazon will have most of my stuff (I'll do a post on why that is later). I will probably register for a few things at Babies R Us and Buy Buy Baby (our local baby stores), but they really don't carry much of what I need for the baby.
Food Cravings? In full force. For two weeks in the 1st trimester, I ate nothing but salmon and steak. Then I moved on to salads, then sandwiches, now in the 2nd trimester, I can't stand fish, but I love fried shrimp....and fried chicken. I eat fried chicken or fried shrimp pretty much once a day. So strange. I also enjoy the occasional french fry or hush puppy. Chicken salad is also a thumbs up if fried chicken or shrimp isn't available.
Names? We have plenty of girl names and ZERO boys names. We actually decided on the first girl's name years ago (okay like two years ago). For some reason, there's no agreement on a boy's name as of yet, and we're following the "Burn the bridge when you get to it" philosophy on that haha!
Bump? I popped just a few days ago! YAY! I am finally beginning to fit into maternity clothes. I will try to post a bump pic in the near future since I now have something to show off.
Birth? We are hoping for a natural birth with no meds. I have done a lot of research on this topic and feel it is what's best for the baby if I can pull it off. Since this is my first, I really have no idea what kind of pain I will experience, so I reserve the right to change my mind. *wink* Ideally, though, I would like a natural water birth, which apparently is possible at the hospital I will be delivering at.
Well, that's all I can think of for right now. Feel free to leave other questions/comments, and I will get back to you. Please keep us in your prayers....we will certainly need them!

Baby Pics
Here are my ultrasound pictures so far...
This was at 6 weeks at my first appointment to confirm the little bean:
At 11 weeks we finally had a picture beginning to look like a baby:
And at 15 weeks this is our little one:
I know they aren't very good, but most ultrasounds usually aren't. We will have our next appointment in two more weeks (first week of May) where we should get a definitive answer on the gender. We have a pretty good guess right now, but I want to be 100% sure, of course. :)
